I first discovered the Boathouse about 10 years ago at Palm Beach on Sydney’s northern beaches. I was instantly taken by its beautiful décor, seaside location with incredible views of Pittwater, and delicious food and coffee.
I soon became a regular visitor, and the Boathouse became one of my favorite places to relax and enjoy a meal. The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere make it the perfect place to unwind, and the fresh seafood is always a treat.
I was even more excited when I found out that The Boathouse is available at other locations including Shelly Beach, Rose Bay, Patonga and Balmoral Beach.
The Boathouse has a casual but classy vibe and no matter where you are in Sydney, you can enjoy the same great food and stunning views that make the venue so special.

Who Owns the Boathouse Group?
The Boathouse Group is owned by a syndicate consisting of Ben & Jono Isaac (property developers) Jordan Kennedy (accountant) and Andrew & Maureen Robb (ex trade minister).
The original Boathouse Palm Beach was established in 2008 by Pip and Andrew Goldsmith who continue to run the business. The Boathouse Group consists of ten separate properties across Sydney Australia.
The Boathouse Opening Hours
Each venue has its own opening hours, which can also vary by season.
Whilst most of the cafes are open for coffee, breakfast and lunch, other venues such as Manly Pavillion and Moby Dicks are open for drinks, lunch and dinner.

Where is Home and Away Filmed?
The Boathouse at Palm Beach has been the location for Home and Away since its inception in 1988. The series is set in the fictional town of Summer Bay, and the Boathouse is one of the most iconic locations in the town. It is situated on the waterfront and is often used as a meeting place for the show’s characters. In recent years, the boathouse has undergone a number of renovations, but it remains an essential part of the Home and Away set. The boathouse is also a popular tourist destination, with many fans of the show making pilgrimages to Summer Bay to see the iconic location.
Is the Diner in Home and Away Real?
The exterior of the building is used as the Summer Bay Surf Club, while the interior is used for a variety of scenes, including the Diner and Jasmine’s flat.
