Fairlight Beach: Harbour Views Without the Crowds
Launderdale Avenue, Manly NSW 2095
Area: Northern Beaches
When you think of Sydney’s most iconic beaches, Manly and Bondi usually come to mind. But for a quieter beach experience with stunning views of Sydney Harbour, you can’t beat Fairlight Beach. Located just a few minutes from Manly, this hidden gem is perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city without sacrificing gorgeous scenery or their daily swim.
I have lived in Sydney most of my life, but only discovered this beach recently, when I was researching best beaches for snorkelling.
Fairlight Beach is best known for its rockpool, which is great for swimming laps or lounging around on a hot summer day. However, unlike many other Sydney beaches there is no shade, so don’t forget to bring your own umbrella or cabana if you plan to stay all day. The crystal clear waters are perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving too—just be sure to check the tides first so you know when it’s safe to jump in!
If you’re feeling peckish after a morning at Fairlight Beach, head over to nearby Manly—it’s only a short walk away! There are plenty of cafes and restaurants offering up delicious food and coffee. And, if you want more than just lunch options there are lots of shopping and nightlife spots too!
For those looking for an alternative beach experience without having to travel far from Sydney city centre, Fairlight Beach is an ideal destination. You can jump on the fast ferry from Circular Quay and in 20 minutes you are in Manly, then it’s just a 15 minute walk.
With its picturesque views of Sydney Harbour and nearby Manly offering plenty of dining and shopping options, Fairlight Beach is definitely worth checking out! Whether you’re looking for somewhere to relax with friends or find some peace away from it all – this hidden gem has something for everyone. So grab your towel and head down to Fairlight Beach today.
