Weather in Sydney and more specifically on the Northern Beaches is warm to hot during summer and cool in winter. The average temperature in summer is 27 degrees C and in winter 15 degrees C. Occasionally the temperature will rise to 35+ degrees C and in winter it can dip as low as 5 degrees C.

Parking at Fishermans Beach
There is some parking available directly above the beach. There is also a carpark located near the Long Reef Golf Club, making it easy to visit even if you don’t live nearby. However, keep in mind when parking at Fisherman’s Beach the carpark can fill up quickly on the weekends and during holidays, so it’s best to arrive early.
You will also find a small carpark if you drive up the hill along Seaview Parade.
Bicentennial Coastal Walk
If you enjoy walking or hiking you will love Bicentennial Coastal Walk, which is a stunning trek that runs from Palm Beach to Manly (through Fishermans Beach / Long Reef Point) and takes in some of the best views of the northern beaches.
The track itself is well-formed and suitable for most fitness levels, though there are some sections of beach walking and steps which may challenge those who are less mobile.
However, the sweeping views of beaches, lagoons and headlands more than make up for any difficulties, and the walk provides a unique opportunity to see some of the state’s most beautiful coastline up close.
There are also plenty of rock pools to explore along the way, making it a perfect activity for a summer’s day.
The views from the top of the headlands are amazing, and there are plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos. You will also find several places along the track where you can sit and enjoy a picnic lunch.
Remember to wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water, as there is no shade along the track. Also, be sure to wear comfortable shoes as there are some uneven surfaces.
Depending on your fitness level, you can choose to do parts or all of the walk.
